RECESS
Recess is
kids playing basketball and football
Short buildings, brick buildings
Flowers, trees
The jungle gym
Shouts of, “Run!”
“Tag!”
“Run for your lives!”
Adults yelling, “Line up!”
The smell of sweet flowers
from the garden
The taste of air
Hands on our shoulders
when we play tag
Hands on the ball
when we’re goalie
At recess.
